radius clause
a clause often found in talent contracts that forbids the artist from playing within a specified radial area from the city in which the clause is being contracted for, for a specified amount of time. A common radius clause is 300 miles from the city/venue, 90 days prior to the event and 30 days after the event. This helps protect the event from reduced attendance due to the artist playing nearby close to the event day.
