Episode Notes and Summary:   

In episode three of Industry Insights, we give updates on 2021 festivals including Coachella, Stagecoach, and EDC.  We talk about new COVID guidelines from OSHA, and we introduce new training options from the Event Safety Alliance – OSHA 30 classes.  We’ll also talk about the mass letter urging our federal government to let our industry help with vaccine distribution, and we’ll cover the new ways our federal government is helping us out, in the form of more PPP loans and the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant.  

Next, we bring on film, tv, event, and festival industry veteran Jeannette Gregor to our show.  Being in this industry for ten years, and having often been the heartbeat of her festivals as Quartermaster, she able to utilize those organizational skills in a new way last year.  We focus on how she was able to take charge and help bring significant financial relief to Austin’s live music venues during the pandemic, and how you can create your own rallies if your community hasn’t been able to help our industry out yet.

We close this episode with a look at The Other Ones, a groundbreaking non-profit organization based in Austin that has helped our area’s homeless population earn a living, help clean up the city, and even find permanent housing in some cases.  We go into detail on how you can help volunteer with them and really make a difference with our homeless neighbors.
